The beautiful beaches in Pula and the surrounding area delight all visitors to this place. Explore hidden coves, islets, stone and pebble beaches.

Lungomare is winding road from the town’s bathing resort Valkane all the way to Gortan’s bay and further to Valsalino is an unavoidable promenade for many residents of Pula. Implanted in a thick pine forest (Pinus halepensis) on one side, and a natural rocky sea shore on the other side. The sight of the setting sun over the slightly rippled sea is a unique experience that remains in the memory to meet again.

1. Valkane

Known as a town beach, Valkane is situated on the beginning of Lungomare coastal promenade. The beach is partly pebble, partially concrete and is suitable for families with children. Beach facilities include showers, changing cabins and toilets as well as sport center where you can rent pedal boats and equipment for tennis, beach volleyball and other sports. There are two bars on the beach.Beach Valkane was awarded with the Blue Flag, a recognition for extremely clean sea and beaches.

Near the beach there is a bus stop with direct link to the city.

2. Gortan Bay

One of the most popular beaches on the Lungomare coastal promenade, Gortan Bay Beach is situated in a small bay. This pebble beach is suitable for families with children thanks to the gentle entrance to the sea, but also for those who love adrenaline challenges since the beach is in a cove surrounded by a rocky shore that is ideal for sea jumps. The beach bar is above the beach. 

This beach is also very popular with the younger generation since it is enlightened and ideal for nighttime bathing.

3. Lungo mare

The southern road from the town’s bathing resort Valkane all the way to Gortanov uvala and further to Valsalino is a must-see promenade. The dense pine forest (Pinus halepensis) on one side and the natural rocky sea coast on the other side provide real refreshment.

Verudela is a part of the city that hides fairy-tale blue beaches, a fort, a canyon and much more . In addition to numerous beaches, there is Fort Verudella on the peninsula, a coastal fort that houses the Aquarium. See the outdoor installations in the Art Park and be sure to visit the Canyon and the Sacred Rock, which are located on the Verudela Peninsula.

1. Ambrela

The rocky/pebble beach Ambrela is located at the entrance of the Verudela tourist area, between Saccorgiana Beach and Hotel Brioni. This beach is very popular for families with children thanks to the easy access to the sea. 

Beach facilities include showers, changing cabins and toilets, as well as a restaurant and a bar. You can rent sun umbrellas, deck chairs, pedal boats and various props, while the youngest can enjoy at the aquapark.  Beach Ambrela was awarded with the Blue Flag – an acknowledgment for the cleanliness of the sea and the beach.

2. Hawaii

Pula beach

Hawaii Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Pula. Name Hawaii was given because of the high waves during Jugo in the cove, which reminds of Hawaii. This pebble beach is located on Verudela peninsula. This beach is very popular for families with children thanks to the easy access to the sea, but also to those who love adrenaline challenges, since the beach is in a cove surrounded by high cliffs that are ideal for sea jumps. 

The Rescue Service takes care of the safety of the swimmers from 11am to 7pm.

3. Saccorgiana

One of the most popular and most visited beaches in Pula is pebble beach Saccorgiana. Saccorgiana Beach is located between Golden Rocks and Ambrela Beach. Thanks to its position, the sea is very calm even during Bura and Jugo wind. This beach is very popular among local population, as well as for families with children and young people. Offering popular women’s necklaces such as pendants, chokers and. Shop for jewelry in a variety of metals and gemstones to suit any occasion.

Beach facilities include beach bar, massages, sunbeds for rent, aquapark and playground for children nearby.

Uvala Valvoline and Uvala Stoja are beautiful places with indented beaches. The beaches are very popular, especially because of the nearby camp and have all the necessary infrastructure and catering facilities.
Beach activities include; aquapark, floating island, ski lift and other props, and you can rent paddle boats or kayaks.

7. Stoja

Stoja Beach is city beach located in the camping Arena Stoja with many touristic and sport facilities. This beach is pebbly with a mild entrance to the sea, but has also a rocky part, suitable for people of all ages. 

Beach facilities include restaurant, beach bar, supermarket, renting props for basketball, volleyball, tennis, mini-golf, badminton, you can also rent jet-ski, banana ride, pedal boat, boat.

8. Valovine

Valovine Beach is located in the bay of the same name between Cape Valovine and Stoje peninsula in Pula.

 This beach will satisfy most users because it has one part covered with sand suitable for smaller children or you can choose a pebble and rocky part.

9 . Seagulls rocks

A special Istrian beach where you can swim in caves and jump off rocks
Just a minute’s walk away is the so-called the Galebijana cave, where you can swim or even kayak. The rocky beach in Pula, not far from the former barracks on the Muzil peninsula, awaits all Istrian guests and swimmers this summer, and is especially popular among fans of cliff jumping, swimming and cave diving.

It is definitely not a typical beach that you often see, so if you are on vacation in Pula, we advise you to dedicate at least part of the day to it – it will enchant you.
